Jazz music is always developing. Jazz musicians are developing also, some as a result of changing fads and others by osmosis from the other musicians around them. It was this osmosis. This website is designed to be searched. You can search for all Jazz Musicians by name and see which albums they have performed on and the other jazz musicians that they have worked with.

An Anthology
Vinyl Condition VG
Description from the Sleeve -
Like the first volume in this series this diversified and diverting collection offers a cross-section of jazz from the 1940s—a time when the music was in transition from swing to bop.
While all the music was recorded in New York Harlem is its spiritual rather than exact geographic location taking in 52nd Street Greenwich Village and Brooklyn as well. There are famous and lesser known artists here but regardless of fame all of them made significant contributions to the music. A further point of interest is that nearly all these performances are new to LR and that a substantial number of them uncovered in Savoy's vaults by the diligent Bob Porter has never been issued before in any form. Among the latter are all but two of the Lem Davis tracks and all the Stuff Smiths.
